Well, I moved my last journal entry here, because it seemed more fitting.

Hi everyone,
I've finally decided to join deviantART - and found that a lot of my friends are already here ^^
I started painting when I was 10 or so and got a set of watercolors, gouache, acrylic and oil colours and a whole bunch of paintbrushes, canvas and paper for Xmas. (I went for the water-soluble stuff because the oil color would get covered in cat hairs before it even started to dry)
A few years ago I switched to digital painting (using gimp and inkscape - I draw all the sketches and lines as vectors and then put it together with bitmaps generated from gimp (I also write my own scripts in scheme and perl)), and do all the graphics and layout (and html, javascript, xml and css; using only a text editor) for my band's homepage (www.aestifer.de). I can't get my graphic tablet to work so I still paint with the mouse
I also photograph a lot since I got my new camera ^^ (that doesn't mean I do it well though)
But my main interest is music, so please don't mind if I stay away from dA for longer periods of time.
(I play guitar in 2 bands, so I'm kinda busy)
I won't be uploading any rough sketches, random snapshots or unfinished stuff because I think there's enough of that here on dA, and it doesn't really belong here.
I won't put my gimp scripts here because 1. I've already posted them on the gimp forums and 2. everyone uses photoshop anyway.
